FedEx Ground Shipping: How Does It Work?

If you need to have packages shipped to your or your customers, or have packages shipped to yourself, then you need to work with FedEx. FedEx has a large and experienced system of drivers, packers, and warehouses that distribute and give out the packages that everyone is ordering.

However, how does FedEx Ground Shipping work? If you decide to ship across the roadways with FedEx for your business, you might wonder what goes into getting your packages to your customers whenever they place their orders. Well, this article is going to show you everything you need to know about FedEx ground shipping, and how it works for your business.

How FedEx Packages Start On The Road

Once the sorters sort and move the thousands of packages to their trucks, the trucks get going. Every single package goes through a FedEx hub network which is one of 25 distribution centers near major cities. Then the shipping address is scanned and then the package goes to a distribution center and then a delivery truck.

For your business, they will often charge based on what zones their customers are in, with the higher the zone number meaning a further destination for the truck to go. Then the truck travels from address to address and then drops of the packages just like any other shipping service.

What Shipping Services Does FedEx Use?

Often, the ground shipping is the best option that will work for people and businesses. However, there are some other services that can be useful if you are shipping goods through FedEx. For example, if your company is shipping freight that are larger than 150 pounds, then you need to use FedEx’s freight shipping.

Additionally, the company has same day and overnight delivery as well, which can be very helpful if your business has that capacity. Finally, if your company is shipping items that are less than 50 pounds, then you can use flat rate shipping to get one price that can keep working for your business if you keep making the same orders.

FedEx can provide a lot of shipping services for your business, but if you need more from your service you can work with Airpark to pack and ship all of your goods. We offer most of same services that FedEx will offer, as well as some more options that will give your goods a safe journey.
