Moving houses and locations can be frustrating and a lot of work. Trying to pack everything up can be very time-consuming, especially if you aren’t sure how to pack or if you don’t know how many boxes to get.
Exactly how many boxes you need depends on quite a few things.
How Much Stuff You Have
Of course, the more things you have, the more boxes you need. If you have a very large home that is completely decorated and furnished, you will need more boxes than someone who stays in a studio apartment.
The number of rooms will also affect how many boxes you need. Most rooms in a house will need about 40 to 50 boxes, but it depends on how much stuff you have in each room. Some people naturally have more things than other people.
How Long You Have Lived In Your House
The longer you have lived in your home, the more stuff you probably have. This is because you naturally start to accumulate more things as time passes. If you have lived in the house for the last 20 years compared to the last 5 years, you will definitely have more things you will need to pack up and move.
For a Three Bedroom Home
If you have a three-bedroom home with four people living in it, you will need about 30 small boxes, 40 medium boxes, 6 wardrobe boxes, 20 large boxes, and 3 extra-large boxes. You might need more or less depending on how much stuff every person has.
Remember that each closest has to be packed up as well as common areas like the kitchen, living room, etc.
Two Bedroom Houses
If you have three people living in a two-bedroom house, you will need about 4 wardrobe boxes, 3 extra-large boxes, 15 large boxes, 35 medium boxes, and 25 small boxes. This will make sure everyone has enough boxes.
One Bedroom Apartments
For one-bedroom apartments, you will need about 2 wardrobe boxes, 10 large boxes, 20 medium boxes, and 20 small boxes. You might only need one wardrobe box depending on your closet size.
Studio Apartments
If you live in a small apartment alone you will need one wardrobe box, 12 medium boxes, 10 small boxes, and 8 large boxes will be needed to pack up all your things.
